Knowledge Exchange – Latin America: Virtual seminars on gender, health and the environment

In March 2023, a series of three virtual seminars focused on the Latin American region were held. These spaces for dialogue were facilitated by the Latin American Social Marketing Association (LAMSO) and IMEK Research Center in Marketing & Development. Each regional dialogue had the participation of women and men who, from different disciplines and organizations, contribute to the social and environmental development of Latin American countries. The topics addressed in these knowledge exchange spaces were: gender violence, salt substitutes and the protection of ecosystems.

The dialogue on gender violence had the participation of between 30 and 35 people, the one on salt substitutes between 27 and 29 people and the one on protection of ecosystems between 20 and 23 people. The number of participants fluctuated during the webinars, which is why these data are given in ranges. We thank those who supported these spaces as panelists and those who attended synchronously, their valuable contributions fostered reflection and sharing of knowledge.

The recordings of the virtual seminars will be available in the coming months, as well as some documents with the main ideas discussed that can be used to inform programs and policies on the topics discussed.
