DIAMOND-R: Digital Applications to Monitor Novel coronavirus Disease and Response in Colombia - syndromic and vaccination surveillance
This project was led by Andrés Vecino-Ortiz, MD, PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the United States, in collaboration with Sandra Agudelo-Londoño, PhD from the Institute of Public Health of the Javeriana University of Bogotá, Colombia. It was financed through a grant granted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). IMEK Research Center in Marketing & Development is a consultant to the project.
The general objective of the project was to: “Determine the feasibility of the use of telephone technologies to strengthen epidemiological surveillance actions and the acceptability of COVID-19 vaccination by the population residing in Colombia, 2021-22”.
Our Foundation supports the project in formative research from the Social Sciences to characterize the perceptions, attitudes and social representations around vaccination against COVID-19 by the population residing in Colombia. Additionally, we led a co-design process to develop voice messages about vaccination agains COVID-19 that would be part of an mHealth communication intervention.
