Consultancy to evaluate the WAVE – Women Against Violence program of the Swissaid foundation in Colombia and Ecuador. The purpose of the evaluation was to provide a baseline to guide and adapt the program’s interventions to improve the actions implemented in each country, as well as monitor the impact of the interventions carried out in the communities where they operate.

The program was evaluated through a qualitative longitudinal study where women and men from rural areas of both countries participated in in-depth interviews and focus groups. People with leadership roles or who worked in government entities in relevant areas where the program is implemented were also interviewed. The data were collected by a team made up of researchers from the University of Bern and our foundation, with the support of research assistants (consultants). Our work also included the transcription and translation of the transcripts of the conversations held with the people who participated in the study; the presentation of the preliminary findings before representatives of the Swissaid Foundation, and the preparation of a baseline report of this study.
