BRIEF

Reducing salt consumption is a global priority to prevent and control chronic non-communicable diseases associated with excess sodium. The publication summarizes the main challenges faced in Latin America.

Specifically, the document presents the ideas discussed in a webinar held on March 23, 2023 entitled “Regional dialogue: salt substitutes to prevent and control non-communicable diseases (NCDs)”, co-organized by the Latin American Social Marketing Association (LAMSO) and the Colombian non-profit organization IMEK Research Center in Marketing & Development. In this space, international speakers shared their different perspectives and experiences addressing the problem in the region.

Stephanie is an architect from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali with a master’s degree in Urban Strategies and Design from the University of Edinburgh. She has professional experience in the design and development of architectural projects of different scales, also developing research projects related to the quality of public spaces in Cali (Colombia) and sustainable construction.
